who came up with it first?

I was looking through Mondays copy of Metro (Skinny Minnie was at work and Boney was off getting some groceries), and I came across this article in The Ridiculant section that caught my eye.

Heres the proper website for it.

I knew SM's idea wasnt original, but I never knew there was a proper website about it!

What a great way for stuffed toys to travel ;o)

  1. That is a really neat idea!

If I recall correctly, one of my sisters had a class project similar to this. They sent a friend (stuffed animal) overseas somewhere, and it visited a classroom of kids the same age. He was able to go home with each child, and go on mini adventures before returning home. They sent one to our country, as well. Each child would write a note about what the stuffed animal did/saw/experienced while in their home, so he had a very extensive travel log!

  3. Kelly, what a great way of getting kids to use their imagination ;o). Its also a good way of learning about different cultures too. Did your Sisters school have an existing relationship with the overseas school?

  4. Ted-I want to say that her teacher had a friend who was teaching overseas, and they were able to make a connection that way. But I am sure that it wouldn't be a hard connection to make!
