ReplyDeleteIf I recall correctly, one of my sisters had a class project similar to this. They sent a friend (stuffed animal) overseas somewhere, and it visited a classroom of kids the same age. He was able to go home with each child, and go on mini adventures before returning home. They sent one to our country, as well. Each child would write a note about what the stuffed animal did/saw/experienced while in their home, so he had a very extensive travel log!

ReplyDeleteKelly, what a great way of getting kids to use their imagination ;o). Its also a good way of learning about different cultures too. Did your Sisters school have an existing relationship with the overseas school?

Ted-I want to say that her teacher had a friend who was teaching overseas, and they were able to make a connection that way. But I am sure that it wouldn't be a hard connection to make!
